THE FIRST UVBC SOURCING MISSION TO VIETNAM IN MARCH 2023
San Jose, Feb. 20, 2023 – Mr. Trung Trinh, President of the US-Vietnam Business Council (UVBC) will lead the first UVBC sourcing mission to Vietnam from March 10 to April 5, 2023.
The mission participants include UVBC business members who are sourcing artcraft/handicraft and metal products made in Vietnam to be distributed in the US market.
They are Bryson Distributing located in Eugene, OR, Digital Marketing Service, Grand Rapids, MI and Consolidated Bearings Company headquartered in Cedar Knolls, NJ.
In addition to meeting with various manufacturers in and around Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, the mission will also meet with various international cooperation organizations in Vietnam to identify and develop specific projects in Vietnam and in the United States including:
- The Center for Vietnam Science & Technology International Promotion of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
- The National Institute of Agricultural Planning and Projection of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
- The Vietnam Cooperative Development Agency of The Ministry of Planning and Investment.
- The Vietnam Association of Mechanical Industry.
On Jan. 19, 2023, a meeting was organized by the US-Vietnam Business Council in cooperation with the Vietnam Trade Office in Washington DC to provide participants with:
- Updates on US-Vietnam Trade Development;
- UVBC past and upcoming events.
In addition to the Vietnam Trade Counselors and UVBC members, 12 companies executives from Vietnam and the US also participated in the meeting on-line.
Mr. Trung Trinh, President also announced UVBC 2023 Action Plan that includes but not limited to:
- A US Business Mission to Vietnam in March 2023.

UVBC is confident that with all above described activities, UVBC is becoming an effective platform to promote business cooperation between Vietnamese and American SMEs.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Executive Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) met with UVBC delegation on October 29, 2022 to discuss on potential cooperation in assisting Vietnamese and American SMEs to look for business opportunities in Vietnam and in the US.
During the meeting, Mr. Nguyen expressed VCCI’s willingness to support UVBC ‘s mission and objectives. He also outlined a number of specific projects that UVBC and VCCI could collaborate in promoting further cooperation between Vietnamese and American Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
On Oct. 29, 2022, Mr. Trung Trinh, President and Mr. Sean Lam, Vice President of the US Vietnam Business Council ̣UVBCĐ met with Mrs. Bui Thi Huy Hop, Deputy Director of the Promotion Center of Vietnam Science and Technology ̣(VISTIP) of the Ministry of Science and Technology in Ha Noi.
The meeting was to discuss cooperation between UVBC and the Center to promote and identify Science and Technology projects between the US and Vietnam.

Mr. Trung Trinh, President of the US-Vietnam Business Council (UVBC) just concluded the first UVBC business mission that ran from Oct. 27 to 31, 2022 in Vietnam. The mission’s objective were to introduce UVBC to the business communities in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City. It was also to form a supporting network with various Vietnamese organizations/agencies for future business development.
The mission started with a Vietnam-US Business Roundtable Discussion organized by the Vietnam US Society in Ha Noi on Oct. 28, 2022 where the UVBC delegation met with an 32 representatives of Vietnamese companies to exchange business information and to understand the needs of Vietnamese SMEs.
The UVBC delegation also met with a number of agencies in charge of International Relations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance to discuss forthcoming projects that UVBC could support, develop and implement in the future.

The meeting was concluded with the Ambassador's remarks that the Embassy of Vietnam in the US will be willing to support UVBC in carrying out any project that promote and strengthen the Vietnam-US relationship in business cooperation as well as in cultural, educational exchange programs.

The Vietnam-US Society hosted an webinar on US-Vietnam Agri. Business Development on Sept 2021 participated by over 62 companies. The webinar agenda included presentations of agri. experts/organizations to address agri. product import/export , food safety training, AgTech Projects in Vietnam.
On May 23, 2019, The Vietnam - US Society in Ha Noi hosted a Vietnam US Business Roundtable to provide opportunities for over 25 companies and organizations to exchange information and experience in business cooperation between Vietnamese and American companies.
On June 30, 2017, A delegation of 12 Agricultural companies from Vietnam visited a number of farms in Salinas, a salad bowl of California to learn of agri product production and distribution. During the visit, the delegation was also introduced to the Western Growers Center of Technology to learn of new AgTech Development. The delegation was led by Mr. Nguyen Tri Ngoc, Vice President of the Federal of Agricultural Associations of Vietnam.
On Oct. 20, 2017, under a cooperation between the Vietnam IT Organization ̣VNITO and the Vietnam Resource Group, a first Vietnam-US AgTech Conference was organized in HCM City participated by over 100 agri-related companies. In addition to a networking session, the Conference offered various workshops on AgTech Development in the US and in Vietnam .
